I like to be called “Wyoming” online but please call me Denise in real life.
I am a woman from Los Angeles who moved to Wyoming late in life, met my husband here, and “here” is were we’ve made our life for our 2 children, my Big Boy and Baby (now known as Big Girl!). My posts will share with you what I’ve done or trying to accomplish. Like many of you, my family too has overburdened itself with debt and now have a need to sacrifice to get out of debt.
I’ve had very kind comments from so many people around the world…thank you so much.
In February 2012 I was given the chance to be included in the ABC Award (Awesome Blog Content) game from Four Blue Hills
In March 2012 I was awarded the “Very Inspirational Blogger” by fellow blogger Work the Dream.

Welcome to the blogging world!
thank you! I’m very excited.
Are you having fun so far? How it the blogging?
It’s a lot of work! I’m trying to devote 3 solid posts a week plus “snacks” is a bit overwhelming but I’m having fun. I’m sure I’ll get into a groove.

this is what son and I did. We gave up the big life and moved to a tiny town in rural Colorado and got rid of our bills and are loving the simple life. Good luck with it all.
Hi Wyomingstorygirl! Welcome to Wyoming. How long have you been in Wyo? Your goal to get out of debt is a wise one. People often ask us why we don’t buy a bigger house, etc. The simple answer is- we don’t want to be in debt for thirty years!
How has the transition from LA been? Generally speaking, people who move here from a large city either love it or hate it. Not much in between.
In line with your get-out-of-debt goal – you may want to look around on Facebook for an “Upcycle” group. I’ve heard it’s a great way to find good kids clothes and toys for trade or garage sales prices….
I’ve lived her since 2006 and I enjoy it. I’m the “lone wanderer” in my family. I’ve adjusted to living in Casper but I’d like to move to a smaller area and totally homestead. I’ve tried the upcycle groups here in Casper and had a disappointing experience because several persons troll it not for items they can’t afford for themselves saying “I need it for my XXX” but to get them for free and sell them (and I caught them, didn’t do any good to complain to the moderator who didn’t care.)
Oh I’m so sorry about that deal with upcycle. I’ve never tried it myself, but I have a few friends who use it. That’s crazy isn’t it? I spoke with a clothes/food bank director who said she sees the same thing happen there. I really don’t understand that kind of thinking.
We are currently living in town after most of our lives out on ranches. We are trying to make the best of it, but keeping our sites on gettin’ out again!
I nominate and give you this “VERY INSPIRING BLOGGER AWARD” because your blog is all about inspiration and lifting others up. You can read about it and get the picture to go on your blog here at my blog: http://workthedream.wordpress.com/2012/03/09/the-very-inspiring-blogger-award/
Congratulations. Your blog is very deserving.
wow! Thank you for your kind words.
Hi wyomingstorygirl! I found you via your VERY INSPIRING BLOGGER AWARD. Congratulations! I too live in the country, Possum Creek in Australia. You’re on a good thing, I think, going for debt free and a simple life. That’s my blueprint for happiness too. Good to meet you
I just happened across your blog through another site (Stacy Makes Sense) and I just had to say–I’ve envious! I was born in PA, but I grew up in Glenrock, WY just down the road from Casper. I moved back here to PA again after graduation (somehow I thought Life in a Small Town was beneath me), and I wish at least twice a week that I could get back “home”. I’ve been back in PA for almost 20 years. I would love to get my “big city” hubby to move West…but there’s only so much prodding you can do to a mule…
Wow, small world! Glenrock hasn’t changed. lol. It’s where I get my farm eggs from, by the way.
Yea, some guys love the big city culture too much to live anywhere rural. Thanks for visiting, Stacy is one great lady.
